Indian automaker Tata Motors has introduced the first petrol engine, REVOTRON 1.2T, a next-generation petrol engine family, to power its future models in the passenger vehicle market.
REVOTRON 1.2T is a turbocharged intercooled multi-point fuel injected (MPFI) petrol engine. It is equipped with a high boost turbo-charger to offer 85PS @ 5000RPM & 140 Nm @ 1750-3500RPM.
REVOTRON 1.2T has been tested for global standards along with a testing car by TEnergy of Korea to ensure the engine.
Advance Engine Management Systems (AMS) in the engine offers a digitally precise control for vehicle performance and emissions. The engine is light-weight and is equipped with a stiffened crankcase that minimizes noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) for a refined output.
REVOTRON Series has been developed by Tata Motors in collaboration with global engine consultant AVL (Austria) and technology partners like Bosch, Honeywell, Mahle and INA. It will include 3-and 4-cylinder petrol engines.
