First Solar Inc of Tempe, AZ, USA, which manufactures thin-film photovoltaic (PV) modules based on cadmium telluride (CdTe), will supply 2 megawatts (MW) of advanced thin-film solar modules to one of Zhenfa New Energy Science & Technology Co Ltd's approved solar projects in Xinjiang province in Q1/2013. The collaboration is First Solar's first commercial demonstration project in China.
